Empowering Afghanistan: Over 30 Years of Commitment and Aid

1990 – Present

Who we are

Founded in 1990, the Welfare and Relief Organization for Reconstruction (WROR) embarked on a mission to support the Afghan community during tumultuous times. As the landscape of Afghanistan began to evolve, WROR found itself at the nexus of change in 2007. With the Afghan government taking an active role in multiple sectors, it was anticipated that many responsibilities, including those overseen by nonprofits, would transition to governmental control. This shift prompted WROR's board of directors to pause operations, allowing members to serve the nation individually across diverse professional fields.

Yet, the vision of lasting peace in Afghanistan remained elusive. Recognizing the persistent challenges and the undying need for intervention, the original team regrouped. With their collective experiences and a shared commitment to humanitarian causes, they rebranded as the Organization for Support and Sustainability (OSS) to reflect their evolved mission.

While WROR's legacy was rooted in relief, OSS emerged with a renewed focus on sustainability, driven by decades of expertise in managing humanitarian crises and successful collaborations with UN organizations. Today, OSS stands as a testament to resilience, dedication, and the undying spirit of service.
